My morning with salty tea



Being a north Indian I have a special love for tea but my individual preference is for salt tea(loon cha). I come from a small temple town kangra famous for lush green tea gardens and many more.As we all know tea is one of the most consumed beverage in the world along with coffee and we north Indians have a special love towards it.

A Himachali morning starts with a cup of warm tea just like any other north indian but with a twist of salt instead of sugar in it.In himachal also you will find small variations to this from place to place like in kinnaur district of himachal Tea is prepared with dry walnut kernel and black pepper whereas in kangra it is prepared with carom seeds(ajwain),water,Himalayan salt,tea leaves(April pluck is best), Milk(Optional),ghee or butter.

This tea is very good for digestion because of carom seeds,ghee or butter gives warmth to body and Himalayan salt flushes toxins out of body, regulates blood sugar and hormonal level and improves digestion.
