Rice Babru(himachal dosa)

Mornings in himachal can be very cold and to keep yourself warm all you need is warmth of fire, some tea and some hot breakfast.Today when i woke up it was already raining and as usual my mother was busy in the kitchen already.So i offered her help and we started preparing for babru which is a type of dosa made with rice flour, water, carom seeds ,fresh coriander and salt.This dish also has many variations at different places of himachal and is usual paired with tea,Hemp seeds chutney or pickle.



Covid has given me a good excuse to get in touch with my roots and these days i am discovering so many dishes, herbs and traditions which are almost alien to people of my generation.This quarantine time is  good time to reflect and point what is truly essential besides money in our life.
